Do you wonder about the men and women behind the scenes for your VoIP service provider? Let’s meet #TEAMIPITIMI. Each week, we will do a quick interview and feature one special employee on our blog to celebrate our diversity in this tight-knit community. This week, we would like to feature another amazing woman from our Support team, Kristine Cruz.
Q: Could you tell us more about yourself?
A: I am from Cavite, Philippines. Happily married and mother of 2 super active boys.
Being the eldest among 8 children, I thought I already have enough experience with kids but parenthood really is a different level when you have your own.
Anyways, when I was in college I avoided subjects that related to computers and networking, who would have thought I would work in the field that I avoided
Q: What brought you to IPitimi?
A: I have been working in Manila (capital of Philippines) which is a 2-hour commute (one way) from where I am living for more than 5 years.
Then IPitimi offered an opportunity to work from home which means I save around 4-6 hours of travel time a day! How can I say no?
Q: What is your role in IPitimi?
A: I am a technical support analyst. It is like I am the middle man (or woman) between NOC/developers and our customers.
Q: What is IPitimi’s greatest strength in your opinion?
A: The diversity, uniqueness, specialization of each team member is one of the keys to a successful IPitimi. Everyone works very hard too! And as I always tell my friends, it is not hard to work hard if you have bosses and leaders who works twice as hard as you.
Q: Where do you see VOIP/IPitimi going in the next 5-10 years?
A: IPitimi will be the trendsetter in VOIP!
Q: What is your favorite work experience?
A: I love it every time new challenges are presented. When you are given tasks that you never thought you will be able to handle.
I always see it as an opportunity to learn and great “bonding” moments with the team. During these challenging times, I realize I am blessed because I am part of a team who is generous in sharing their knowledge and who can handle issues with finesse.
Q: I’m going ask some fun questions! What are some of the top things on your bucket list?
A: Travel with my family, to be an expert in VOIP
Q: If you were stuck on an island, what are three things you wish to have with you and why?
A: Duct tape, knife …. And my husband.
Q: Hobbies/interests outside of work?
A: My husband and I are part of Couples for Christ where we also are a member of the Music Ministry. Through this ministry we get to serve and also play good music which is one of our common interest. We also started biking which is our exercise and stress reliever. Hopefully, one of these days I can start reading again. I enjoy reading books written by Sheldon and Grisham Fraternal.
